The City of Columbus is taking big steps to address the climate crisis. A few weeks ago, Mayor Andrew Ginther announced a plan for the city to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2022, and to be carbon neutral by 2050! On Monday, March 16th, Columbus City Council unanimously passed the Energy and Water Benchmarking Ordinance which is a critical piece of the City’s climate action plan. As adopted by council, the ordinance will enable greater efficiency in apartments, stores, schools, hospitals and other large buildings.
