Every time you draw water from your kitchen faucet, there are rules in place to protect and defend that water for you and your family. Now, the Trump Administration has slated one such rule, the Clean Water Rule, for repeal.
Before the Clean Water Rule was created, polluters had free reign to contaminate streams and waterways they deemed “insignificant.” Holding bad actors accountable for everything from radioactive wastewater discharges, to sewage leaks, to oil or chemical spills was near impossible.
Unfortunately, these “insignificant waterways” often fed into major drinking water sources. In Ohio, 90% of the state relies on drinking water sources that are protected thanks to the Clean Water Rule.
If the Clean Water Rule is repealed, your tap water could be at risk of contamination, and the the people responsible would face no repercussions for their actions. That’s not fair, and it unnecessarily puts our communities in danger.
Send your official comments to EPA by personalizing the email below. If the Clean Water Rules is repealed, the streams, rivers, and wetlands that clean our drinking water, will be put at risk. Tell them why it is important that you have access to clean water! Below are some ideas to get you started. Feel free to copy and paste into the box below
