Tell your representatives and senators to reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund!
For more than 50 years, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has been redirecting a small portion of revenue from offshore energy development into our nation's public lands.
Here in Ohio, the LWCF has funded projects in almost every county. It has helped protect places like our only national forest, the Wayne National Forest, significant historic sites like Hopewell Culture National Historical Site and James Garfield National Historic Site, Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Northeast Ohio, and hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.
LWCF has touched upon almost every community project, both big and small in our state and without it, we wouldn't have nearly as much access to public land as we do today.
But, the LWCF is set to expire in September if our representatives and senators do not choose to reauthorize it.
You can save LWCF and ensure a lifetime of funding for the most beautiful and historical places in our great state by telling your legislators to reauthorize this precious resource today!
